South African infrastructure · Built for the open cloud

Compute.
Storage.
Built differently.

DL2K Labs runs independent infrastructure for decentralized compute and storage — with software built to make self-hosted systems easier to operate.

01 / COMPUTE

Decentralized compute,
running in South Africa.

DL2K Labs contributes independent infrastructure to the Akash Network, giving workloads another route to capable compute outside traditional hyperscale clouds.

AKASH PROVIDER

Deploy containers without building your own datacenter.

Use Akash Console to launch containerized workloads through an open marketplace of independent infrastructure providers.

OPEN MARKETPLACE

Choice by design.

Akash workloads are bid on by providers instead of being locked to one hyperscaler.

LOCAL REGION

Africa on the map.

Infrastructure located in South Africa adds geographic diversity to decentralized compute.

02 / STORAGE

Storage that doesn't depend
on a single cloud.

DL2K Labs also operates storage capacity on the Sia network, where data is distributed through a decentralized marketplace rather than housed behind one provider.

SIA STORAGE PROVIDER

Independent capacity.
Open network.

Our Sia host contributes real storage to a global decentralized storage network while remaining independently operated and monitored by DL2K Labs.

03 / APPS

Tools for infrastructure
operators, built here.

DL2K Labs is expanding beyond infrastructure into software built around the realities of running self-hosted systems.

04 / WHY OPEN INFRASTRUCTURE

The efficiency gap.

Same workload. Very different economics. This CPU-only reference uses Akash Network's official pricing methodology across open-market compute and comparable hyperscaler container services.

Methodology. Snapshot taken 7 October 2026 for an always-on 4 vCPU, 8 GiB RAM, 20 GiB storage, CPU-only workload. Monthly USD estimates were returned by the official Akash Console pricing API. Akash's comparison methodology uses AWS Fargate, Google Kubernetes Engine and Azure Container Instances list pricing for the hyperscaler estimates and approximately 730 hours per month. The hyperscaler average for this snapshot is $161.13/month; Akash is 81.1% lower. Estimates are illustrative and actual Akash cost depends on the provider bid selected.

05 / DL2K LABS

Scalable infrastructure.
Serious intent.

DL2K Labs is an independent South African infrastructure lab focused on decentralized compute, storage and practical tools for self-hosted environments.

We believe useful infrastructure can be open, observable and operated by more than a handful of giant platforms.
